Being photographed with your four-legged friends on social networks is a new custom. But it’s not the only way the stars of the musical world show their love for their pets.
Such an unconditional love as that of our pets simply has to be captured in song lyrics of different styles.

1. Delilah – Queen
Freddy Mercury’s love for cats was well known. Several of the animals in his London home accompanied him until death.
The “most famous” were Tiffany, Romeo and Delilah, to whom he even dedicated a song in 1991. It’s on the Innuendo album and it’s really pretty.
This cat was special, so he sings: “You are unpredictable and you make me happy when you cuddle up and sleep next to me”.
The other band members of Queen didn’t like the song, but thanks to the tenacity of the singer it appeared on the LP.
2. Martha my dear – Beatles
Another song about pets was written by Paul McCartney and is on the Beatles’ White Album . This album contains 30 songs and was released in 1968 by the most famous British band.
Martha was a bobtail lady whom the musician adored. However, the text could also be about a woman or an old relationship.
However, when asked what the song was about, the musician replied that Martha was his beloved pet.
3. Blues del Perro – Pappo
This Argentine artist wrote many songs about his feelings. One is about his mother, whom he called “the best”.
But we also notice that the black-clad, long-haired singer has a weakness for pets.
“Hundeblues” (blues del perro) is about his fox terrier, which is called a cactus. He lived with him for many years and even took him on concerts and tours.
In the song he sings that his dog is perfect, loves the blues and they travel across the country together.
4. Lovecats – the Cure
With this song about pets, Robert Smith’s band entered the UK Top 10 in 1983 . The song was very well received by the audience and was therefore included on the Chinese Whispers album .
However, the story is not about a pet, but rather comparing cats to fragile people.

5. Seamus – Pink Floyd
To complete our list of songs about pets, we’d like to include singer Steve Marriot’s dog as well. His “singing” was immortalized by a song by the band Pink Floyd. There you can also admire the dog’s growling.
The dog who called himself Seamus was a collie and the song appeared on the 1971 album Meddle .
It’s an extraordinary and original blues. However, it also aroused criticism from fans, as the song probably hurts a bit in the ears.
